Two decades of applied engineering R&D

Before ANSY Tech built cloud products, we built the collaborative-engineering, decision-support, and knowledge-management systems below for automotive and manufacturing clients — several under Auto Body Consortium and NIST-funded research. They're shown here as a record of that work, not as live, hosted products.

Collaborative engineering suite

The jSuites family

A set of Java and web-based tools built to bring quality and design methodology onto the shop floor and into distributed engineering teams.

jSUITES

A Java-based collaborative suite for concurrent product design and development. It helped distributed teams design for manufacturability, assembly, and quality/reliability while monitoring production and tracking problems and their resolutions — built around a structured Creative Problem-Solving method (mess-finding, data-finding, problem-finding, idea generation, solution-finding, acceptance-finding).

jPUGH

A web-based Pugh-matrix decision tool for product developers, designers, and quality/reliability engineers — a collaborative, defensible method for comparing concepts and selecting the strongest one. Also adapted for plant and shop-floor maintenance and monitoring decisions.

jFMEA

A collaborative, web-based Failure Mode & Effects Analysis tool. Cross-functional teams logged potential failure modes, flagged cost-effective preventive actions, and retrieved past FMEAs, with risk statistics updating automatically as the team worked.

jFISH

A Java-based Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagramming tool for root-cause analysis, doubling as a knowledge manager that kept every diagram tied to the program or project it came from.

iBRAIN

A web-enabled brainstorming workspace that let distributed teams run collaborative ideation, problem-solving, and decision sessions without needing to be in the same room.

iCONTROL

A real-time, web-based monitoring and control system. The standard build interfaced with DeviceNet to monitor and control a material-handling system on the plant floor.

Enterprise decision & knowledge systems

Process, decision-support & quality platforms

Intranet and extranet systems that turned client and consortium process knowledge into a working, searchable asset.

wSUITES

An enterprise toolkit bundling three services: a subscription Research Dissemination Portal carrying advanced sheet-metal stamping and welding research produced under the Auto Body Consortium; CADSS, an intranet decision-support tool that documented a manufacturer's design, build, and run processes and mined that knowledge to improve production performance; and a Collaborative Extranet connecting client organizations with industry partners as a virtual enterprise.

cPDIS

A process-improvement platform that modeled a company's activities as IDEF0 process maps, showing how activities interacted so teams could target continuous-improvement work — and helped make ISO 9000 / QS 9000 quality documentation a living system rather than a filing-cabinet exercise.

gCADSS

The generic Computer-Aided Decision Support System, built on the Auto Body Consortium's automotive product-design process. It carried findings from a NIST ATP-funded “Near Zero Stamping” research program on sheet-metal forming, hemming, and process control, searchable by parameter or attribute.

cCADSS

The company-specific counterpart to gCADSS: the same decision-support framework, deployed on a client's own intranet or extranet to hold its proprietary process knowledge in confidence.

Knowledge portal

Knowledge Intranet & Knowledge Network

Knowledge Intranet

A customizable, proprietary knowledge-management system that let a company set its own objectives and build a knowledge base around its specific, niche expertise.

Knowledge Network

A generic knowledge-management and technology-transfer platform focused on the automotive stamping process. It hosted the NIST- and OEM-sponsored Near Zero Stamping Knowledge Transfer (NZSKT) research delivered for the Auto Body Consortium, alongside the gCADSS and cCADSS tools.
